Tundra buggy tour, day 2

The group is transported from the hotel in Churchill to the Tundra Bay Lodge on the shores of Hudson Bay, from where the polar bear safari tour actually starts. The lodge is very basic but comfortable and is made by several tundra buggies connected together.

Early in the morning we are transferred to a Tundra Buggy, our vehicle and almost our home for the next days (indeed we will sleep for the next 3 night inside a modified version of buggies - the Tundra Buggy Lodge - this will give us more time to explore the taiga and search for bears and other wildlife).

Near a Buggy's tire, I spot a nice Lemming.

	We are now in the middle of the Taiga, near the Hudson Bay's shores. The trees have branches on one side only, because of the prevailing winds blowing from the bay. They are very slow in growth.

Soon we spot an Arctic Fox. And then.....


Polar Bears !!!



	Often they walk directly toward the Tundra Buggy

The bear is very close to me... I may say 3 meters or so... while I am safe inside the Tundra Buggy.




We continue to spot a lot of bears, here and there.


	And also a lot of Arctic foxes.


	The Tundra Buggy lodge where I will sleep for several nights.
