The ancient wall was built around the city for defense about 600 years ago, and has a total lenght of 45 kilometers. |

The following day, the tour continues with a visit to the Terracotta Warriors site and museum. |

This is the first pit. It is estimated that about 7-8000 statues are buried in the ground, with only 1000 currently exavated. The others will remain buried until a technique to keep the original colors forever, will not be discovered (sadly, all the excavated statues have lost their colors). |

The details are very fine and amazing. Every statue has a different face, as they were modelled by thousands of different artists. The statues may measure up to 1.90 meters in height, with a weight of 300 kilos. |

Unfortunately, many statues were destroyed when the emperor's dynasy ceased. However, most of them are under rebuilding and maintenance. |
